Finding the best dental plan
I have been trying to help my boy friend get dental insurance for his son. Since I was able to get my boy friend on my dental plan he only needs something for his son who is ten. So far my boy friend has been paying out of pocket for all his son dental needs.
Now however his son is in the middle of braces and is being told he needs to have a few teeth pulled. The cost is just getting higher and higher and he is left with no knowing what to do. His current dentist does not take HMO only PPO which from what I can tell will have waiting period for the very dental service his son needs. Can anyone give us some helpful advise

You are right that most dental PPO plans will have waiting periods and if you are with a dentist that only takes PPO you will normally need to deal with some waiting periods depending on the PPO dental plan terms and conditions.
That you are also in the middle of a job may dental insurance company will not cover for your work in progressive since it may be consider preexisting. So make sure you check on that regarding any dental insurance you may get.

That is correct about the preexisting so getting any help for the braces may be very hard now that they are in the middle of the job.
As far a pulling out the teeth. You may want to look an either an dental HMO or a Dental Discount plan. Both plan normally do not have waiting periods. However that may mean changing dentist in order to pull the teeth and have some dental coverage
Otherwise you are back to the PPOs and having to deal with the waiting periods. Good luck to you
